First Look

Here is the poster for our Wilier 2010 First look evening, the event being held on the evening of Friday the 4Th of December, is designed to let you have a look at those models you may not find in every shop. It's also a chance to get some idea's for that new 2010 bike you've been thinking about. We will have Wilier UK brand manger Colin Bath on hand to answer any questions. Hope you can make it!

New Add

Here is a copy of our new add that will be appearing in several publications during the coming months. It was designed by our in house BMX superstar Josh James aka Boqer. At least he has something to keep him busy during the winter months! good work.

More Winter Kit

It's that time of the year in the Cotswold's, the time of year when on every road ride you get muddy if it's raining or not! Well give your washing machine an a break, get some mudguards! What are you saying I hear you cry, mudguards are for the C.T.C crew? Well not any more Mr crud (Pete Tomkins) has come up with a modern solution to and age old problem.



As you can see from the picture above these mudguards are more than subtle and very effective. Though not quite as clean a a full set of mudguards they do more than enough to keep you and a large percentage of the bike clean. I've even got a set on my winter bike. Winter is coming !

The second of our new brands is Endura clothing. The Scottish based brand has become famous over the years for well designed, well priced, cycling clothing. Endura will often come top of test in the cycling magazines and websites reviews. We have chosen a range of clothing that we feel offers a good balance to both road and mountain bike riders over the following months, however we can order any of the clothing in the range so if something takes you fancy let us know.

Key items in the range so far have been:



The FS260 Pro Jetstream jersey at £59.99, this features a windproof front and a fleece lining perfect for those chilly rides.



The Thermolite Pro Biblongs with pad at £74.99, these are perfect winter tights with a light fleece lining, double coverage over the knees, the fantastic 600 insert and a Teflon coating to keep you warm.

New Whyte offerings in store

It's been a busy October as far as new brands to the store!

The first of the new brands is Whyte bikes. This is a UK based brand designed within riding distance from the store. These bikes are designed for the demands of UK riding. The range gets fantastic reviews from the cycling press and all feature specs picked for the performance factor not price points alone.

The key models for 2010 will be the new 901 at £1099, this features the same award winning geometry as the rest of the range only in a new slightly more affordable package.



The 905 comes in at £1499 and has for the second year in a row received fantastic reviews.








Both the bikes are available to view in store with the the more of the range following in early 2010. Check out the Whyte website for details on the rest of the range. Stock is set to be limited due to demand so if you like what you see, a deposit will secure you order.

We've just attended the 2010 Trek Product Launch. One of the bikes that stood out is the new 2010 Trek Fuel EX8. This bike offers all the new Technology of the EX, a great spec, all for £2000. This may sound allot, but when compared to other brands bikes at this price point it's a winner!

Imperiale Gone to a winning start

As predicted the "special" one off 2010 Wilier Imperiale has sold already. The one off coloured bike was purchased on the Saturday then ridden to it's first victory on the Sunday! Congratulations to Richard, hope you are enjoying your new toy!

Some of you out there may have already seen the brand new Wilier Imperiale either on the web or via Wilier's own Imperiale Site
Well we are lucky enough to have a bike already in stock, in large, 6 weeks before they are due to land in the UK. Not only that we have a super limited edition green colour. This colour will not be available on general release and was purchased by ourselves at the product launch in Italy at the start of July. The bike has a full Campagnolo Chorus 11 groupset and should retail for £4250. Busy Times!!

Wow what a mad few months it's been. Since we took on Trek we have been at full speed. We've never had so much interest in a brand. To make things even more interesting we are already stocking up with 2010 Trek models as the 2009 models run out.

Demo day update: Thanks to all those who came along on the day. The day was a great success for both the Wilier brand and the weather!!

It's not just the road saddles we have in stock. We also stock the popular Fizik Gobi mtb saddle. We are also hoping to get a test version of the Gobi as soon as possible.

Fizik Test Centre

We are now a Fizik saddle test centre. We have a range of test saddles for you to try before you part with your hard earned cash on that dream saddle. It makes sense when investing in a new saddle that you try one out first. You would not purchase a pair of expensive Italian shoes without trying them on! The same should be true with your choice of quality Italian saddle. To try out the latest fizik road saddle all it takes is a £50 security deposit and away you go!
As well as the test saddles we also have a good range of Fizik saddles in stock including the new Antares.

Ride a Wilier Cento Uno for free!!!

On Saturday the 9Th of May, we will be holding our second annual Wilier demo day. This is your chance to test ride a Wilier Cento Uno. What else do you want to do with your Saturday other than ride 6K bikes! The day will take the format of three group rides from the shop, starting at 10am, 12pm, 2pm. Each ride will be just over an hour long and will be at a steady pace, hopefully in warm and sunny weather. All you need to do is bring along your helmet, shoes and pedals (if clipless) and a form of photographic ID. (e.g a Passport or Card style driving licence) Don't panic if all the Cento's are gone as there will also be a selection of Wilier Izoards to ride till the next ride out. Spring Has Sprung! and the Workshop is busy!

At last we all appear to be enjoying some good weather and are able to get out on our bikes a bit more. The only problem is we all have the same idea, not that we are complaining! The upshot of this is that the workshop is running on full speed at the moment and we are currently fully booked, this is something many of you have found in the last few days of calling us, we are sorry that we can't "squeeze" you in. As I'm typing this the first slot we have in the diary is the first of May!! so please be aware of this when calling to book you bike in. We are also only able to take in booked in bikes due to the busy period. Please call on 01285 642247 for the latest slot availability.

Change to Bike Hire

Due to last summers high demand placed upon the hire fleet, as of the First of April 2009, all the hire bikes will only be available from the Cotswold Water Park and no longer from the store. We will update you with all the details of location, costs etc as soon as possible.

Back for 2009 !!

Now the Christmas rush is over we can get back to reporting the news and events for Ride 247. Since the last post we have added some new brands to the store.

Dakine, famous for high quality luggage, packs and gloves is now available.

Verde, a new BMX brand to the U.K has already gone down well with the U.K press and are getting good comments from the local riders. The brand combines good value for money with light weight, good looking bikes.
